ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Thijs. A down to earth guy who loves heavy workouts and strong ideas. Raised in the most beautiful city in the Netherlands (Groningen) and studied in its Scottish counterpart (Edinburgh).
I’m crazy about stories, designs, films, drawings and campaigns that make you feel something. That provoke. That make people think. Or better yet: move them to act. For me that always starts with ideas so simple you can explain them in a single sentence, and so striking you can’t ignore them in the street.
In ten years of working as an Art Director and Designer I’ve worked on projects in the sports, beverages, telecom, the public and health sector, for clients including the Scottish Government, FC Groningen, Univé, The Famous Grouse, Sweco, IRN-BRU and The Macallan.
In 2021, I graduated cum laude from the Creative Advertising MSc at the Edinburgh Napier University and was selected by the international D&AD jury as One To Watch, a prestigious recognition for emerging creative talent from around the world. In 2025, the jury of Young Dogs awarded me the title of Rising Star and I got nominated for the Golden Saw, an award that celebrates creative talent willing to challenge the established order. My work has been featured in the Dutch national news, ESPN and my parents’ pin board.
